Soundcard Calibration

I some how started this discuss under Capo, and wanted to properly locate it here. I am struggling to get a proper reading on my M-Audio Fast Track usb sound card. It appears I am getting some type of loop distortion, or perhaps something else all together. I have measured the same sound card using a different measurement software on a pc and I obtained a very flat response - same smoothing. Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Cizonor

    Cizonor,

Have you modified the swept sine settings? Also, what sample rate and bit depth are you running the card with?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Chris,

Nope. Have not modified any settings. I've tried everything, 44.1K/24 bit, 48k/24 bit, and 44.1K/16 bit. It has something to do with my computer, as the internal soundcard measures the exact same. I was hoping someone had run into this issue before?

    Thanks,

    Conor

    Conor,

I'm not sure what could be causing this. Because both sound cards measure the same, it could be related to a bad calibration file import. Do you have microphone calibration turned on for any of the channels?

    Hi Chris,

I wasn't sure as to the cause either, so I went ahead and reformatted
my hard drive, wiped it clean. After booting up fresh, the Fuzz
Measure software works perfectly. I think that there was some sort of
audio application (e.g., Skype, iHear) that was effecting my soundcard
measurements even though the particular application was not running at
the time. Anyhow, it works now, and it's all good. Thanks for taking
    the time to respond.

    Conor
